I’m Paddy Johnston. After 15 years working in-house for major brands in book publishing, news, media, finance and academia, I founded Level Up Communications in 2026 to offer consultancy to internal communications teams and help them to improve, innovate and deliver for their stakeholders.

Effective, impactful internal communication is essential to the success of any organisation, regardless of size or sector. It’s my mission as a consultant to enable organisations to level up their internal communications. Whether it’s through bespoke training, developing strategic plans, coaching and mentoring, auditing content and processes, or providing creative services and engaging content, I can improve your internal communications, and in turn improve the success of your organisation.

Alongside my work in communications I also work as a composer and sound designer, and I’ve had a varied career as an academic, a book publisher, a writer and an editor, all of which have given me a sharp creative skillset that can deliver impactful and engaging results.
