about me
I’m a Communications Consultant with 15 years’ experience working for large and small global companies in the book publishing, media, finance, news and academic industries.
During my career I’ve been integral to a number of impactful internal communications teams that have helped businesses to deliver on their goals, and have levelled up these teams’ capabilities through strategic and creative thinking, improvement of processes and workflows.
These are just a few highlights from my career in communications:
During my time at Reuters, the trusted source of the world’s news, I helped keep journalists informed and empowered with critical insights and engaging change communications.
At Fitch Ratings, I helped financial analysts feel a sense of belonging and empowerment to foster the independent thought that drives effective and world-leading credit ratings.
At Springer Nature, I helped to drive essential research and scientific progress by connecting and empowering colleagues working on world-leading academic books and papers, including the research that powered the Covid-19 vaccines.
At leading trade publisher Hachette UK, I kept colleagues and key corporate stakeholders informed and engaged across a complex, federated business through multiple periods of digital change, numerous acquisitions, and the publication of countless brilliant books.
Now for the fun stuff: as well as being a communications consultant, I’m also a composer and sound designer, a father of two young boys, a passionate baseball fan and player, and an author with a PhD in English Literature and a previous life as an academic. All of the experiences I’ve had in my varied career have set me up to be a human-centric, creative consultant.
